Mobile giant Sony today officially unveiled their new smartphone Xperia Tipo priced at Rs 9,999/-. Also the company introduced the dual version of Xperia Tipo, Xperia Tipo Duel in the same event which is 500 rupees costlier than Tipo. Xperia top features a 3.2 inch capacitive touch screen. It is powered by Android 4.0 (Ice cream Sandwich) OS and an 800 MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with 512 MB of RAM.
The display of the phone is made of mineral glass and is scratch resistant. The Japanise mobile maker is also offering an inbuilt memory of 2.5 GB which can be further increased upto 32GB by using a microSD card externally. Sony is also offering cloud storage service via Box upto 50GB of data usage with Xperia Tipo.
Sony India’s MD Kenichiro Hibi said on the launch event “the company’s market share in India is 9-10%, and the company has plans to raise this figure aggressively. The company will also expand the exclusive Xperia Store network in the country.”
The phone maker is eyeing the youth segment with Xperia tipo and is banking upon the music capabilities of the device to lure buyers.

As the name suggests, Tipo dual features Dual Sim (GSM+CDMA) facility. Xperia tipo dual features an additional hardware key to switch between SIM cards. Rest of the specifications is same. All the feature of Tipo dual is same as that of Xperia tipo. Apart from that, a big difference is in the price of these two smartphone

Sony has tied up with Vodafone to offer 500MB of data free for three months for Xperia tipo buyers. And also the company has tied up with Box to offer 50GB of cloud storage via Box with the Xperia tipo.
Both of the phones come preloaded with entertaining apps such as Bollywood Hungama, Dainik Jagran and Cricbuzz.

As told above, there is a difference in the prices of Xperia Tipo and Tipo Dual.Sony Xperia tipo comes at a price of Rs 9,999 whereas Tipo dual is 500 rupees costlier than Tipo and is priced at Rs 10,499/-
